Bicycle dealer, repairs, and in a pinch, rental

Yamazaki-san at Yamazaki Cycle, a few steps east of Atago Station in Noda City, takes great care of our bicycles. I brought him a beater bicycle, and he refurbished it with new tubes, a thorough tune up, and a sturdy back basket for hauling. He was great with communication, phoning me to let me know when the repairs were ready. His turn-around time is fast - he can get your bike ready in a day or two. The local chain hardware store's bike section told me it would take two weeks to do the job. The price was reasonable, and I got talking to him about his business. He gets a local of resident foreigner and visiting foreigner customers. He's not an English speaker, but he gets by with basic English, and resorts to using his smart phone to communicate with customers who don't speak Japanese. He's a good heart, and patient. In a pinch, he can rent bikes for days to weeks for visitors to Noda City. Note that he's only open Tuesday, Thursday, Saturday and Sunday. He closes up when the weather is bad.
