Interesting museum an easy walk from Ebisu Station
The Tokyo Photographic Art Museum is under 10 minutes on foot from Ebisu Station, and I really enjoy it for several reasons. There's a constantly interesting array of exhibitions coming through here, many of which are really thought-provoking. I also love that it really treats photography as an art form - I feel like it's typically undervalued as art, so it's nice to see a museum specifically dedicated to it. The admission prices vary based on the exhibition, but the events I've attended there have always felt like value for money.

An ever-changing and always interesting array of exhibitions
For any art and/or photography lovers out there, the Tokyo Photographic Art Museum is not one to be missed. I've been here twice so far. On both occasions, they've been to see photographers that I admire. What surprises me is that the photographers, while famous, aren't necessarily popular. So, for this museum to have two exhibitions on two rare photographers was quite phenomenal. You can buy your tickets right when you get there. At any given time, there are a few different exhibitions going on. If multiple ones interest you, you can buy a combination ticket that includes more than one gallery. The workers at the desk are very kind and can speak English well, so there's nothing to worry about. From the ground floor, you need to take the elevator to the floor that holds your exhibition. Once there, someone will greet you and take your purchased ticket and give you a brochure with the gallery information. Perhaps I don't visit popular exhibitions, or I go on strange days and times, but the gallery has never been crowded. Whereas some places (Mori Art Museum!!) are so crowded it makes it difficult to admire a piece for more than a few seconds, here I feel that I can gaze as long as I like without people pushing past me. It's something I really appreciate about TOP. Getting there is simple, too. It's an easy walk from Ebisu Station. Simply follow the Sky Walk to the Yebisu Garden Place and you'll see a large building advertising TOP Museum.
