Massive Fudomyo statue in modern structure

When I first visited Enoshima, I mistook this modern building for a municipal building. It certainly looks like a museum or culture hall. In fact, it's a Shingon Buddhist temple built in the 1990s. The temple's central figure is Fudomyo. This statue is said to be one of the largest under a roof in Japan. Visitors are welcome inside to quietly view the statue and the altar in the dark interior. The temple's priest conducts a goma fire ceremony daily.
