Fun for the sweet tooths

Chocolatei is a fun place to stop into in the Agano area of Niigata, and I highly recommend tacking it on to a visit to the Hyoko Iris Garden around the June timeframe when the flowers are at their best. The store here sells a variety of delicious ice pop style treats, plus regular soft cream if you're wanting something more indulgent. When it's colder out they also sell hot chocolate, so even if you can't make it here during iris season you'll still have something to look forward to! The ice pops range from about 450 to 550 yen depending on the type you pick.
