Neat fish market with fugu!

If you’ve ever wanted to try fugu, the famous “poisonous if prepared incorrectly” puffer fish, this is the spot to do it. The Shimonoseki region is known for fugu and this market serves it up at wholesale prices. You can get a small dish of it for around 1000 yen which from my understanding is pretty reasonable. The market is also a fascinating look into people’s livelihoods and is a great way to start an early morning in Shimonoseki. There is a large multi storey parking lot situated just next door to the market premises if you’re headed there by car.
