Marine Palace
Umi Tamago is a nickname for the aquarium in Oita. I guess the official name is Oita Marine Palace, which is also silly. English Website: https://www.umitamago.jp/index-en/ It's located between Oita Station and Beppu Station with access by bus. Discount ticket including the return bus fare and entrance to the nearby Takasaki Yama Nature Park (where you can see wild monkeys) is included for 2550 yen per adult from Beppu Station or Kitahama Bus Terminal. Dolphin and marine animal shows are included and the aquariums are great, with jellyfish and local habitats represented. It's recommended for kids and anyone who enjoys sea animals! The only downside is really the price, but it is typical for aquariums to be a little expensive.
