A Homey Spot to Have a Tea

Shoeikan is a coffee shop located in Okayama Prefecture’s Fukiya Furusato, a Japanese traditional village that is known for its red colored buildings. You could easily notice this shop because of the dango (rice cake) being roasted at its entrance. So, when my husband and I wanted to rest from walking around the village we decided to go here. We ordered 2 dango, one has a sweet glaze and the other one was salty--- if I’m not mistaken it, was miso. We also had Yuzu Tea and Combu Tea. We didn’t really like the texture of the dango. It was too hard. The sweet glaze was okay, on the other hand the salty one wasn’t, but was still edible. The Yuzu tea was tasty and the Combu tea felt like you are drinking soup. I don’t think it goes well with the dango. The vibe of the shop was quite cozy. We really liked the Japanese interior. It’s a nice spot to chill, but I don’t recommend ordering the dango.
