Best in autumn, but lovely year round

We used to be fortunate enough to live a short distance from Showa Kinen Park, and would visit there regularly. It's beautiful year round, but I personally love it in the autumn months, when the gingko trees are their trademark yellow and there are cosmos in bloom around the park. There's usually something beautiful to admire in any season, and it's a pleasant spot to just wander around. There are food vendors scattered around the park if you need to grab a bite to eat when you're there, and even places selling balls and other park equipment - we bought a ball on one visit and had fun kicking it around in the wide open space. Saw a lot of other people doing the same thing!

    Showa Kinen Park

Beautiful Autumn Colors!I love the Gingko Avenue the best! The view there can be compared to Nami Island of Korea! So beautiful. But it was best it we arrived a little earlier cause many of the leaves had already fallen. Nonetheless, the experience is worth it! The area of the park is very large and there are a lot of walking to do and sights to see including a small pyramid and bouncing dome. One tip though is that, if you want to go to the gingko avenue, you should take the entrance to Nishi Tachikawa Station, cause it is more convenient there than in Tachikawa Station.
