Oshikiri Inari Shrine 押切稲荷神社

Hoary ginkgo tree, high relief carvings

On a route suggested by Ichikawa City's tourism map is Oshikiri Inari Shrine. It's an old village shrine just 2 minutes on foot from Gyotoku Station on the Tozai Line. The shrine to an eleven-faced Kannon statue is small, but it's worth a look for two features. Next to the haiden, the worship hall, is a 1000-year-old ginkgo tree with a face! The honden, or main shrine, has high-relief carvings that are worth a look.
