Ueno zoo is a very well maintained and very organised zoo. It is geographically small, but large selection of animals. It is very conveniently located. It is very popular with tourists and locals alike. It can be crowded on weekends and holidays. It is reasonably priced. It is only 600 yen per adult (age 16+) and there are discounted rates for students. Children younger than school going age get in for free. It is open from 9.30 am to 5 pm Tuesdays through to Sundays, closed on Mondays. Driving is not advised as there is limited parking in the area and it is charged. It is convenient to get to from public transport.
