Kawagoe's transport hub
Kawagoe Station is the gateway to the charming Edo-period town in Saitama, and like most stations in Japan it's been ultra clean and well-maintained every time I've passed through. It is a little trek on foot to Kurazukuri Street (about 25 minutes away) so just keep that in mind otherwise you'll be paying for a cab.

Principal station for touring Kawagoe
There are several train stations in Kawagoe City of which three are in downtown Kawagoe. Of those, Kawagoe station is the principal station and the main one used by tourists visiting Koedo (Little Edo) Kawagoe. The station is shared by the Tobu Tojo private train line and Japan Railways (JR). They have separate gates that lead into a shared station area with eateries, shops and services. There is a tourist office by the gates to the Tobu Tojo line where you can pick up maps and information for the tourist area. The Tobu Tojo line is at the east side of the station, which is the side from which buses to the tourist area goes. The JR line is by the West exit which is more for locals. It is a medium sized station that is easy to navigate and access.
