Nice place to get some views out over the region
The Takane Observatory is located about 10 minutes driving time from the Ikaho Onsen area, and it's a nice place to stop into to get some great views out over the area. It was particularly nice seeing some of the autumn color on the mountains when we visited, but I think this week it would be even more prominent there. There is only a small parking lot on site that accommodates about 12 vehicles, so just keep that in mind.
