Hachijojima foot bath with spectacular view

On the south side of Hachijojima, there are many onsens that take advantage of the mineral-laden hot spring water. Kirameki foot bath, free to enter, sources its water from the same springs. The view is breathtaking, overlooking the Philippine Sea. If you are lucky, you may see see life, including whales, cruising by in the distance. Next to the foot bath is a basin to wash your feet, and shelves to set your things on. And then just relax and let the hot water soothe your feet. Even in winter, it's not cold on Hachijojima, and the little pavilion of the foot bath shelters you from rain.
