Interesting, but kinda high admission fee

My husband is a big history buff, and if you are too (or you have a history aficionado in your life) then the Japanese Sword Museum is an interesting visit. There are a variety of sword blades on display, which are honestly very impressive from an artisanship perspective even if you're *not* into swords. I did feel that the admission fee was a bit high (1000 yen for adults) -- I think there are lots of other history/artisanship based museums that are half that price or less. The museum is in easy walking distance from Ryogoku Station.

Preservation and exhibition of Japanese blades

The museum, run by the art sword preservation society, moved from its Shinjuku location to Ryogoku two years ago. The new building is spacious, and is located next to Kyu-Yasuda Teien, a preserved Edo Period garden. The sword museum has a series of galleries that reveal the history and craftsmanship of Japanese swords. The main exhibition hall is lighted to provide excellent viewing of the blades and fittings. The museum has many different exhibitions every year to display the vast collection of modern and antique swords. The gift shop has books in both Japanese and English.
