Idyllic setting, year round garden, welcoming people

This Shingon Buddhist temple is a bit out of the way. It's easy to cycle or drive to it from central Kashiwa City on the way to Teganuma Marsh. The temple is called Kannondera but the central image is Fudomyo. The gardens of the temple are spectacular. Usually I aim to go some time between April and June to see cherry blossoms, peonies, and hydrangea. It's also a great fall folliage spot. The temple hosts tours of Shikoku and Kannon-related temples and holds classes in calligraphy. It's also frequently a venue for concerts.
