Worth the visit if you like amusement parks and / or Universal Studios entertainment

I really enjoyed visiting Universal Studios Japan (USJ). I have only visited it once, because it is in Kansai and I am based in Kanto. I think the reason I enjoyed it so much, as someone who has visited Disney dozens of times, is because we got to go on loads of rides. Whereas in Disney we are lucky to get on four in the one day due to the crowds and poor management. I found USJ so much better organized and a billion times more easy to get around and get food as the queues are much shorter and move faster than in Disney. However, judging by the other reviews here, it looks like we just might have been lucky that the day we went wasn't busy!

    Time is money

As this is a theme park you should expect it to be crowded. Currently, it is less crowded as there are no tourists from overseas but for popular rides, you still might have to wait several hours. You can also purchase fast past tickets if you don't want to wait but these are not cheap. Food in the park is also rather overpriced as well. You pay 600 Yen for a churros stick. Some of the rides are really fun, some are rather boring. Personally, I would recommend the spiderman ride and the VR rollercoaster. I would not recommend the Mario Cart ride because you can't even control your cart. The Nintendo World itself looks really cool though so you should pay it a visit. Entry is limited on some days so you need to get an entry ticket via the USJ app.

    An Ok Thema park

Universal studios japan is not as entertaining as the the Original in LA, at times to crowded with people and instead of more rides there more shops who sale stuff that are bit expensive,Also i found that the hotel at universal studios has windows that can be opened that are very low that a child could fall from it.

    Crowded and underwhelming

My USJ experience was back when my daughter was 1 and we were in Osaka. I guess maybe it was a rookie parenting mistake on our behalf or we just went on a day that ended up being ultra crowded, but it was miserable and we probably left about an hour or so into our visit. A huge waste of money at the time, and again I preface that by saying we were pretty naive! I think maybe one day I'll go back, but I wasn't wowed by the place at all.

The best theme park in Osaka!

Universal Studios Japan located in Osaka never fails to entertain you. It has nine different zones and dozens of attractions, shops and restaurants. My favorite zone is the Wizarding World of Harry Potter. Once you enter it, you feel as if you have step inside the movie. For its famous ride, Harry Potter and the Forbidden Journey, I had to wait one hour but I assure you it was worth the wait! Hogwarts Castle fidelity is astonishing! 1 day pass costs around 7,600 Yen. This pass includes park entrance and use of all attractions. If you are interested only in the 7 main attractions, I suggest purchasing Universal Express Pass; to avoid standing for long waiting for your turn on busy days.
