    Fun, Cute and Famous

This little coffee house was actually set up by Ken Watanabe, the famous actor, after the 2011 quake and tsunami ruined much of the Miyagi coastline including the little town of Kesennuma where this is located. The opening and closing hours should be checked before any intended trip as they aren't open terribly late and we have managed to not be there at the right time a couple of times now. In addition, sometimes the proprietor himself stops by to check on things (and I am assuming take pictures with fans, but I might be wrong about that) but even with all of that, if you didn't know this was Ken Watanabe's restaurant, you might not guess either. Save for the miniature Godzilla with an apron on the bookshelf by the restrooms and a few publicity shots at the front (which would have been done with any celebrity guest, not necessarily the owner), it just looks like a neat little coffee shop. We ordered dessert pizzas and they were glorious as was the coffee. It was really lovely and worth checking out. I look forward to going back.
