Orchard with dining hall and experiences

This is a spot you shouldn't miss when you pass through Mishima City in Shizuoka Prefecture. I visited with a friend in high summer with cool breezes coming off the foothills of Mt. Fuji. The orchard has fruit picking experiences year round. We visited at peak mango and peach season. The summer fruits are captive in containers and greenhouses, not in open fields. However, I think this is a bonus. The carefully cultivated fruits are easy picking with a pair of garden shears, while you're enveloped in the fragrance of the fruit trees. The main building is filled with a wide variety of omiyage with sweets and produce. You can book ahead for a set meal and tours of nearby food factories. The bus ride from Mishima Station takes about 17 minutes.
