If you enjoy Thai cuisine, Spicy Market in Niigata's Chuo Ward (the Meike branch) is a good place to get your fix. Their menu includes a lot of classic favorites like gapao rice and green curry, with options to order a la carte or pick from various course menus if you're particularly hungry. Portion size and value for money all feel reasonable. They also operate a couple of other stores in Niigata (Sakai, Shibata, Kamikido) if you're not close to the Meike branch.
