Iwata Koinobori

Koinobori display by the Shibumi River

The Iwata Koinobori event is one that I visited for the first time this year, but the festival has been running for almost a quarter of a century now. It's held along the Shibumi River near the Iwata Rural Park, and it's quite a peaceful place to enjoy the carp streamers without hordes of crowds. The koinobori will be up until May 9th for this year, so there's still some time to check them out after Golden Week.
