    Worth a journey to

Hitachi Seaside Park is one of those places that is worth going out of your way to visit. However, if you are visiting during either the nemophila or kochia season expect queues to park, to get in, to get a photo, to buy anything and for the toilets too! The park opens everyday in April and October when those flowers in bloom. The rest of the year round it closes on Tuesdays. They open early on Saturdays during busy periods. You can get a two day entry ticket that is only 500 yen. There is no entrance fee for children.

Visit in spring or autumn for the best views

Hitachi Seaside Park is one of those places that you've probably seen even if you haven't visited in person - it's Instagram famous as a result of the springtime nemophila and the late summer/autumn kochia that fill the grounds. They have a wide variety of other flowers that bloom here throughout the year, and I highly recommend checking their official website (https://hitachikaihin.jp/en/flowers/) before you stop by, as it has a blooming calendar on there. It's nice to know what's going to be in season and when, so that you can plan your visit accordingly. Adult admission is a very reasonable ¥450.
