Tanigawadake Ropeway
Tanigawa-dake: Tanigawa mountain is one of the most famous among hikers in Gunma, the highest point is 1,977m. Tanigawa dake 15 minute ropeway ride will bring you to 1,319m from here go up using lift till 1,512m. Walk to the top. Wending machines and restrooms are available. Stores and food services are available at the base. To make reservation call the business; phone, fax, and email are available. Please ask train and bus schedule from your destination. Open hours 8:00am till 5:00pm. To: Tanigawadake From: Takasaki to Minakami 1,140yen, take a bus to Doai from Minakami station 760yen. (Minakami to Doai train runs only 4 times a day, so taking train early or later than 6pm is impossible, and buses run from Doai station to Tanigawadake and this is easier.) Driving is easy, too. Family friendly. Shinkansens are available from Tokyo to Takasaki station and it takes only 2 hours approximately.
