The national history museum a must-see

The 130,000-square-meter museum is a must-see for history buffs and archaeologists. The National Museum of Japanese History in Sakura City offers a comprehensive overview of Japanese history. Located on the site of Sakura Castle ruins, the museum houses nearly 10,000 historical artifacts in six galleries and hundreds of thousands of archaeological and cultural artifacts. The museum, designed by Yoshinobu Ashihara, showcases archaeology, history, and folklore from the earliest human habitation of Japan to the Showa Period. I was awed by the breadth of the exhibitions and I think this is a good place to take children to see full-size displays of how people lived in past ages. You could easily spend a day here!
