Interact with retired racecourse horses

Tokigawa Horse Care Garden is a facility for retired horses. Many of them were formerly racecourse horses. Not necessarily the racehorses, but other working horses. Such as pony horses - the horses that accompany race horses onto the track, but don't run themselves. At this facility you can interact with the horses. If you book ahead you can also become a stable hand for a couple of hours, for around 3000 yen, and learn all about their care as you muck in with the stable upkeep! Otherwise, you can just rock up - on the days they are open - and pay 200 yen for carrots to feed the horses.
