Thatched roof temple
Kotokuji (Kotoku Temple) is a temple that has a thatched roof. It is actually very rare in the Kanto area these days. You can often see period houses with thatched roofs, but most temples replaced their thatch years ago. The thatched roof temple is actually an outer hall of the main temple. There is a lovely Nio gate at this temple too. And the main hall has a nice garden with a weeping cherry blossom and a couple of mature cherry blossom trees. There is a small car park beside the grave yard in the temple grounds. There are no official hours for the temple and there is very little information online. It doesn't have its own website, just a web page on Kawajima Town's website.
