Vertical "villa" in the city
You can easily spend a few hours exploring this complex spread over three towers at Takanawa Gateway City. We got lost wandering through the shopping and dining in THELINKPILLAR 1 South and North buildings. They're connected on the 4th and 5th floors by meandering paths. Each floor has seating, often with views, to take a break. The highlight is the observation deck on two floors at the top of Luftbaum. There are too many cafes and restaurants to list here.

Plentiful shopping (although some of it very luxe) at Takanawa Gateway Station
NEWoMan Takanawa only opened earlier this month at Takanawa Gateway Station, and the multi-floor premises has a ton of shopping and dining options to choose from. There are luxe brand stores like Jo Malone, Hermes, Chanel, and Prada, restaurant options including the likes of Japanese, Indian, Italian, and Spanish, branches of Muji and Cosme, and more. Although a lot of those designer brands are out of my price range, it's still a fun way to kill some time and window shop if you're in the area.
