Fantastic cake resource in Chiba
This place is an absolute gem! If you're in the Urayasu area then I highly recommend you try it. It puts your typical train station cake supplier to shame. To start, Patisserie Un樹 cares about aesthetics right from the get go; the shop front is covered in green foliage and flowers. You'll find it about a 5-min walk from Urayasu Station (Tozai Line), tucked down its own little drive way. There's a cute bench outside. Inside, there are basically two displays of sweets. On the left, you'll find jellies and puddings. I'm not usually one to spend a lot of money on jelly so I don't pay this section much regard. That said, there's some nice looking stuff to choose from here (although, again, I'm happy with the 100 yen offerings in the supermarket). Next up is the cakes. It would be hard to give a definitive list of what kind of cakes you can buy here, as I think they might change depending on season, or the baker's whimsy. I'm not sure. Either way, they look and taste amazing. I suppose you can expect to come here any day and find something chocolate-based or fruit sponge-based, but they will be a cut above the rest, and still at a reasonable price (expect around 400-500 yen). There are plenty of cakes to choose from here, so take your time when browsing (although you'll probably find it hard to decide). There are about 4 sets of table and chairs here, and they serve coffees and teas of you want to eat in and make a bit of an occasion of it. The staff are kind and friendly, and don't put you under any pressure to choose. Once again, check this place out if you're in the area. Really!
