On The Way Coffee & Cupcakes

Great cupcakes, friendly service, tiny storefront!

If you're wandering around the streets of Shimokitazawa (one of my favorite Tokyo neighborhoods) you'll find yourself spoilt for choice when it comes to food options. A favorite though if you need a sugar-hit to power through the rest of your day is On the Way Coffee & Cupcake. Sometimes, places like this have that "too cool for school vibe", with staff that act as such - but that's a pleasant change here! The owner is super friendly and despite the store's popularity he's still always the same friendly guy every time we've stopped by. The coffee here is good, the cupcakes are tasty and always perfectly presented - the only real downside to visiting here is that seating isn't always easy to come by. Sometimes it's easier to just grab your coffee and cupcakes to-go rather than hoping a spot will open up (definitely harder to find a place on weekends than weekdays in my experience!)
