I love Japan's myriad of interesting museums, and while not specifically a "museum", Mentai Park in Gunma is a really fun spot to learn more about all things mentaiko. It's a super family-friendly destination, with loads of displays where you can learn through play, along with a dedicated playground area, factory tours, and a food court where you can enjoy various mentaiko-filled foods. Admission itself is free, card payments are accepted at the food court. An easy and budget friendly activity for a rainy day, or when the heat of summer really ramps up!
