Interesting insights into Nagasaki's history

The Nagasaki Museum of History and culture gives you a fantastic insight into the city’s history as the part of Japan that was first opened to trading with foreigners. There are lots of items on display which were brought to Japan by foreign traders and a surprising number of hands on activities to enjoy - this was a pleasant surprise since I find that usually, history museums tend to be notoriously hands-off. The museum seems to have rotating temporary events too, so it’s worth checking the website before you attend to see what’s on at the time. Really enjoyed this place and so did my history loving husband.
