Junction station, connections to Narita Airport

Shin-Kamagaya Station in Chiba Prefecture is a suburban station, but it's significant for all the connections you can make here. This station is served by private railways - Keisei, Shin-Keisei, and Tobu railways, plus the "third sector" Hokuso line constructed and managed by a public-private collaboration. The station has good way-finding and it's easy to navigate. Wide bench seating gives you a chance to get your bearings before continuing on to Tokyo or Narita Airport. But there's a missed opportunity here. While it has an arcade of shops, they're generic and it lacks local character and products. I think this is a minor fail as thousands of international travelers in Chiba Prefecture pass through this station.
