Johan Furumachi

Johan is a bakery chain that you can find in many parts of the country, but this specifically relates to the Furumachi store in Niigata City. They open fairly early (8am) which is pleasant if you're looking for a bite to eat in the morning. Lots of variety, including things like croissants, danishes, baguettes, bread loaves, and plenty more. You can get there by bus in about 10 minutes from Niigata Station, or just under 30 minutes on foot if you're energetic.
