Green tea and sweets in stunning tea house
Hyogetsu-tei is located at the Gyokuro No Sato roadside station. However, it is on the opposite side of the road to the facilities, shops and parking lot of the roadside station. It serves green tea and Japanese sweets, served exquisitely. The building is beautiful and it is set in a gorgeous garden. You walk through a traditional gate, along stepping stones (on gravel stones), passing by a pond and seasonal blooms on the way. The main room is intricately designed and there are many moon features, hence the name "getsu" which means moon.
