Japanese curry, stewed for 100 hours

I like the bravado of the shop name, 100 "Jikan" Curry Amazing (100時間カレーAMAZING). Still, if you've spent 100 hours toiling over a curry dish, you'd at least hope it turns out to be ... good? And it does. OK, so Japanese curry, perhaps by definition, is never going to be amazing, but I suspect at this small restaurant in Urayasu this is about as good as it gets. The menu is simple enough -- you chose a base of either 100-hr beef curry or 100-hr hayashi pork stew. From there you add toppings or fillers like breaded chicken, pork cutlet, veggies, and cheese. And you order a side of rice in small, medium, large. The curry base itself can be cooked to a degree of spiciness. I went with the mild. The interior is pretty basic -- open counter, tables and benches -- but is warm a pleasant enough, although not really a place to hang around for more than an hour or so (despite the shop name). Service is polite and friendly, and don't worry, you won't be waiting 100 hours for the curry to turn up. It took about 10 mins when we visited. Great location near to Urayasu Station (Tozai Line) but the locals do know about this place, so at peak times you may have to wait outside for a few minutes. As I suggested earlier though, its the kind of place that you suspect has a high turnover of the diners. Will be going again
