Cherry Blossom Spot in Saitama

Tsurugashima Undo Koen is one of Saitama's better known cherry blossom spots. It features in some of the many lists about prime places to do "hanami" or picnic under the cherry blossoms. The night light up of cherry blossoms is very picturesque. Apart from the popular cherry blossoms, there is a water play area that is already in use (April 4th 2018) making it one of the earliest places children can play in water in this area of Saitama. However, there isn't much else in the park for children. There is one small playground with just three pieces of equipment. The park is best known among locals as a relaxing place to fish. The small lake in the park is prioritized for fishing and small children aren't allowed walk on the boardwalk along the water. The park is accessible 24 hours, but the car park is only open from 6 am to 7.30 pm. They extend the hours during night light up of the cherry blossoms.
