Ichino River Cherry Blossom Promenade

Beautiful, colorful light up

The Ichino River Cherry Blossom Promenade in Yoshimi / Higashimatsuyama is most commonly referred to as the Yoshimi Hyakuana cherry blossoms, because the promenade runs in front of the 'Hyakuana' or 100 caves of Yoshimi. They are generally considered a cherry blossom spot of Yoshimi town. But officially only a very small section of the promenade is in Yoshimi and the rest is in Higashimatsuyama! The small section that is in Yoshimi is lit up at night during the period that the cherry blossoms are flowering. The really cool thing about this light up is that they change the color of the lights every couple of minutes. Despite being relatively small, the colorful lights and mature trees attract a steady stream of visitors.
