Rokko Arima Ropeway

Amusement-like Ropeway

If you take the long scenic way to Arima, it will involve a couple bus rides, a cable car ride, and this ropeway. Rokko Sancho bus will bring you here from the Rokko Cable Car Sancho Station. I don't recommend sitting in the front seats (or using this at all?) if you are scared of heights, but it's a great view over the forests of Rokko on a clear day. It was a little scary for me because we sat in the front. I thought of it like going on a rollercoaster although there isn't any quick movement. The ropeway will close if it's too windy or bad weather, but it operates every twenty minutes throughout the day. The ropeway will take you from Rokko mountain down into Arima, still part of Kobe City. It's a small tourist town famous for their two kinds of onsen. Rokko itself has a lot to offer, mostly the view of Kobe harbor.
