Tokamachi Tourist Information Center

Loads of info, exceptionally helpful staff

If you’re visiting Tokamachi and want to find out what the area has to offer, I’d highly recommend checking out the Tokamachi Visitors Information Center. They’re conveniently located within the train station itself and have a bunch of information about current and upcoming events - it’s one of the most comprehensive visitors centers that I’ve seen. One of the staff members speaks English so if your Japanese isn’t great you can ask for someone that speaks English and they’ll be able to help you out. There’s also free WiFi, and spots to store your luggage if you’ve come with a lot of gear that you don’t want to carry around all day. They’re open from 9am until 5pm daily - they were also open on a holiday when I stopped by which is convenient as well!
