Business Hotel with Onsen but FEW amenities

I stayed here with my family in December of 2021. The rooms were what we would expect from a business hotel but offered a lofted bed which was nice. We checked in the evening and the females of our group owere granted 5 amenities of our choice from a cabinet near the entrance. We got to our rooms and my kid and I chose to head down to the onsen on the second floor. The whole hot spring/bath area is tiny but nice if you're the only ones in there or there isn't a pandemic about. Despite a sign on the door saying no more than 4 people were allowed, we saw a woman with a child come in while we were in the bath with one other guest. We left. When we got back to the room, my husband noted that he didn't have and couldn't find a razor so I went down to the front desk to ask. The woman behind the counter was chatting with an unseen friend (was he under the desk? In the back room? On her phone?) and when I waited for her attention and asked about the razor, she stared at me like she had no idea why anyone would need a razor and them prattled off something incomprehensible in keigo. When I turned to walk away she started talking to her friend again, loud enough for me to hear it, almost laughing about me asking for a razor for my husband's face. She couldn't even wait for me to get on the elevator to start gossiping about me literally behind my back. The mattresses were hard but we slept okay. Breakfast the next morning was a buffet of Japanese favorite -- fish, rice, miso soup, curry -- and some alright croissants and tiny omelets but the scrambled eggs were too runny and there was no salt or pepper. There are no keycards here. You have to remember unique passcodes of six digits for room entrance or access to the onsen. The highlight of our stay would be the ten minutes of free drinks at the buffet area right after we checked in and the five minutes my daughter and I got to spend in the onsen on our own the morning we left. If you're stuck here with family, get two ajoining rooms. You'll be thankful for the space. And bring your own razor.
