Environmental learning engaging for kids
The Center for Environmental Science in Saitama, most commonly called CESS for short, is an environmental museum of sorts in the Kazo area of Saitama Prefecture. The park out the front of the museum is free, but there is a nominal fee into one part of the museum with the educational and interactive exhibits. An area of the museum is free - a library / study hall and meeting rooms - as are several of the events they hold. They have a garden with further exhibits. The center recently underwent a renovation, so there maybe some changes when it opens back up after the forced closure due to the coronavirus outbreak. The architecture is very striking. Hours are 9.30 am to 4.30 pm Tuesdays to Sundays, closed on Mondays. There is plenty of parking and it is all free. There are toilets in the car park and also in the museum.
