Heiwa no Mori Park

Park along the Kakigawa River

Heiwa no Mori Park is located along the banks of the Kakigawa River in Nagaoka, and while it isn't a particularly large park, it is a pleasant place to sit and listen to the sound of the water, especially if you grab some takeout from a nearby cafe or restaurant and set up a little picnic. It's fairly walkable from Nagaoka Station, too (under 15 minutes on foot). Not something I'd go out of my way for, but if you are in the area and looking for an outdoorsy place to sit and enjoy a to-go cup of coffee or meal when the weather is nice then this is a decent spot to do so.
