Great vibes at this 80-ish year old restaurant

Yagichaya is a restaurant in the Sanjo area of Niigata, close to the beautiful Yagigahana rock formation, and it's a really fun place to grab a bite to eat. First, the vibe is very retro and nostalgic -- it's a place that has been around for 80-something years, so if a bit of history appeals to you when you're dining out then this is worth visiting! Menu-wise there are a lot of hearty, comfort food faves like curry rice, oyakodon, ramen, and fried rice, with almost everything on the menu under the 1000 yen price point. Service is wonderfully friendly as well, so I highly recommend it.
