Recommended walk to the Railway Museum

The Railway Museum in Saitama City is a must-see in Saitama City and it's got its own railway station on the New Shuttle. However, I recommend the 12-minute walk along the Railway Garden Promenade accessible from the west exit of Omiya Station. Along the way, you'll see vintage train cabs, a deck with a window onto the train yard where you can glimpse railcars under repair, and a retired train engine. On your stroll, look out for railway-themed street furniture, too.
