    Beer served properly, casual dining

In Suzuran Dori, the narrow covered street at the east exit of Omiya Station, there are plenty of casual dining places. I spotted Ginza Lion LEO which brought back memories of the original beer hall in Tokyo. The branch on Suzuran Dori is a modern space with a wood veneer interior, so it's nothing like the heritage building in Tokyo. But the service and food are as good as the legendary hall. Be sure to look up to see the Art Deco-style wheat motif on the ceiling. I had a cold glass of Sapporo lager and felt fancy with the gold rim. The plate of Volga rice, omelet rice, and cutlets I had was filling and flavourful. There are booth seats, tables, and a counter. It's comfortable for families and solo diners.
