    Cheesy Tarty Engrish

If you're in the mood for a little fun Engrish to accompany some pretty fantastic cheese tarts, look no further than this shop, with a store front located conveniently in Sendai Station (Near the zunda places on the second floor). For under 1000 yen, you can get 5 freshly baked tarts, all lined up in a pretty row, boxed for your convenience. This is not a cafe but a place to pick up some tasty treats on your way to somewhere else. The staff is kind enough, though English is not their strong suit. They might present you with a calculator to remind you of the total, as if you were a tourist butchering Japanese left and right, but try not to be offended. They are just doing their best to avoid confusion and their cash register does not reveal the total to the customer. The reason why this shop is located where it is, in the tourist omiyage section closest to the JR entrance, is because this shop originated in this area. Most people would associate Sendai with Date Masamune, cow tongue, zunda, or the 3.11 disasters, but apparently cheese tarts are a thing up here, too. As it is the specialty of the house, the cheese tart comes in only one size and flavor, but you can choose from packages of ten, five, or even single tarts for purchase. Also available are Cheese Maman (souffle), Sendai cheese pudding, and Snow Precious, a 1,080 yen round cake (presumably filled with cheese). The tarts themselves are pretty delicious, even after spending a day in the fridge. I can't speak to the rest of the fare, but if the tarts are anything to judge by, it's probably all very good, and not too expensive.
