Zenkoku-ji Temple

The heart of Kagurazaka

Zenkoku-ji is a beautiful temple in Kagurazaka and also a very important one; home to one Shinjuku's tangible cultural properties the stone tiger or Tora Bisha. Moreover, it has a fascinating history dating back to the 16th century. It is very photogenic anyway, but they also have some photo spots on the temple grounds. There are lanterns above the gate that they light up at night, even though the temple and its grounds are actually closed after dark.
