Yamadaya Shaved Ice

One of Saitama's most famous

Yamadaya is one of Saitama's most famous shaved ice (snow cone) cafes. It is located under a bridge in Tokigawa Town! Expect to queue for at least an hour! If you want to avoid the queues, visit in winter. However, in winter they only open on Saturdays and Sundays. The 'natural' ice is out of this world. It just melts in your mouth. If you want natural ice it costs 250 yen, but worth every yenny. The seasonal flavors are amazing and worth the hiked price. Currently the indoor seating area is still closed due to the pandemic. You can sit outside, but be warned - there are mosquitos galore!
