Great hanami spot from the train
There are only a few stone monuments at the west exit of Iidabashi Station to indicate the history of this length of Edo Castle's outer moat. This moat is said to be named for Ushigome Castle that once stood here. The remains of the gate dating from the 17th century can be seen on Kakurazaka Dori just outside of the west exit. I recommend stopping by here in cherry blossom season as the view of the canal boats and the pink blossoms lining the moat is lovely.
