Kominka for toast and tea

Hachijojima has a number of cafes and casual restaurants along the roads, but this one is distinguished by the house and the host. The kominka, an antique house, has been carefully restored and decorated with antique tansu. The house is situated in a wide and slightly overgrown garden and bordered by a tamaishi round rock wall characteristic of the island. The menu is simple - toast and bagels with various fixings, tea, and coffee. I recommend the toast for a filling snack. In the winter, the host puts on the kotatsu tables and blankets. It's a nice spot to take a leisurely break.
