    Snake Sake Available

Kenzo’s bar is located on the second floor of one of the walkways in Golden Gai. If you’re interested, you won’t miss it as it has a slightly misleading sign on the door that has the lady working the bar and the words “Tell me about your country!” I say misleading because it’s not the lady who’s interested in you and your country, it’s the owner, Kenzo! He’s a nice enough fellow, but his Engish is nearly non-existent. The lady at the counter is the one who will translate most of what he can’t understand and she is the one handing out drinks. I unfortunately can’t remember her name, but she’s a good sport and is not above ribbing the customers with jokes. The special drink here is snake sake. It’s a bit on the pricier side but doesn’t taste all that bad. It tastes rather like a less chemical-tasting version of Fireball whiskey, if that makes sense. It has a cinnamon flavour but goes down much easier than one would expect. The place itself has quite a few seats, probably more than it should have considering the space. It’s a small area, with eight people already making it feel cramped. The decoration is, for lack of a better word, funky. The walls have leopard print wallpaper, the seating has leather covers, and news clippings and album covers are spread around on the walls. Overall, it’s an interesting experience and would be a good stop for bar hopping at Golden Gai.
